Upon listening to ‘Alibi’, our reaction was positive. Above all, there was a certain vintage quality, a strong flair of nostalgia that greatly characterised the song as an elegant nugget from another era. You see, Zachary Crawford manages to pen a song that feels relatable and uplifting, yet drenched in soul and funk material, the kind of musical contour popular in the late 70s and early 80s. We think it’s glorious, an absolute treat. From the shiny guitars to the polite drums, to the heavenly vocal harmonies: everything screams masterpiece.

Emerging from Cork, Ireland, Crawford already found a charming personal style in his latest album, ‘Hello Stranger’, helping him establish his little creative island in today’s overcrowded music industry. Now, he doubles down on the glory with ‘Alibi’, a record that we are confident will go a long way in gaining him a wider audience. Recorded by dutch producer Phil Martin, ‘Alibi’ is the wholesome song you didn’t know you needed.
