It took us a while to fully grasp the magnitude of ‘Abstract Facts’. You see, the record is not just another electronica-powered EP. It is way more than that: the result of nuanced music research, delving into the cultural references of its author - The Numb Project - and taking then a form of its own, rejoicing into the gritty, glitchy and leftfield textures the project seems to so proudly champion.

Classified as downtempo, ‘Abstract Facts’ takes a cue from the likes of Boards of Canada and Telefon Tel Aviv, managing to still pursue its own authentic character. Over a stunning four tracks, the listener is gently dragged into haunting and ethereal sonic material, often drenched in light saturation and synthesised, kaleidoscopic goo.

Going by Chris Calarco by day, The Numb Project is a clearly talented producer, boasting a mesmerising career that started way back in 2003. Yes, 20 years of magic… way to go. Speaking about the EP, The Numb Project explains: “this is my most fully realized and mature work and crackles with sonic precision and fat grooves. I think this EP sits well alongside thoughtful headphone candy genres like trip-hop, glitch-hop, and psychedelic downtempo.”
