On Rotation: THE MUSTER POINT PROJECT 'The Little Things'

Hailing from Calgary, Canada, The Muster Point Project is an indie/pop rock group led by “multi-instrumentalist and storyteller” Kevin Franco. Their latest single, “The Little Things”, is part of an upcoming five-song EP entitled “5 kg”, featuring collaborations between the group and Canadian novelist Geoff Moore. Over a winding, bouncy instrumental, Franco sings about how the spice of life is in the small things, be it cheap gambling in Las Vegas or a long-distance conversation. Franco and the band themselves declare the song their “favourite song so far!” The song is easy on the ears, and the harmonies that work their way into the music following the second chorus help make the song stand out among their peers. However, the song really picks up in its second half, where the instrumental unison between bass, drums and guitar results in a punchy sound that takes the song to a whole new level, helping listeners feel the lyrics even more. Check these guys out, especially their cover of John Prine’s “Blue Umbrella”.

TMPP is Kevin Franco who plays Guitars, Bass, Ukulele, Keyboard, Piano & Vocals. There are session musicians that help out: Drums & Percussion: Marcelo Effori, Background Vocals: Anastasia Kareva.
