On Rotation: THE MARCHES "FEEL IT ALL"

The Marches, a rising Scottish pop-rock quartet, released their latest single, “Feel It All”, an upbeat yet emotional rack that is glowing with vintage charm with a nostalgic ‘90s vibe. Echoing the shimmer of Sixpence None the Richer and the lyrical flair of Alanis Morissette, the track sounds like it would be played on the stereo during the golden era of alt-pop.

Instrumentally, “Feel It All” has a production that features warm guitars, steady drums, and angelic harmonies that make the song sound timeless. Originally demod as an acoustic demo by guitarist Jane Jenkins, the song keeps that intimate quality while embracing a full-band backing. Moresco, the song’s soft edge is reminiscent of those iconic and cinematic ‘90s alt-pop ballads.

Lyrically, “Feel It All” tugs at the heartstrings and indeed makes us feel all of it. The chorus is full of emotion, as the repeated lyrics "I feel it all" makes it clear that the song is about surrendering to the range of emotions that comes with falling in love. Throughout the verses, the recurring lyric, "8:50 and I'm all yours, baby," lingers, reinforcing the song’s theme of holding on to time. More specifically, the timestamp adds a sense of intimacy, as if clinging to a specific moment in the morning before the world starts the day.

All in all, what makes “Feel It All” stand out is its ability to bring back the best of bygone era of music while keeping with a modern and clean production, merging the best of both worlds. The Marches infuse their sound with hazy romance and confessional-styled lyrics that make the release feel like it's missing from a ‘90s mixtape.
