TE/MO "TAROT, UPRIGHT" & "TAROT, REVERSED" (EPs)

TE/MO, a rising alternative-pop artist based in Chicago, released earlier this month her double EP, TAROT, UPRIGHT & TAROT, REVERSED, which follows her debut, The MOTHER EP. These twin EPs explore life’s uncertainties and contradictions, using the upright and reversed aspects of tarot cards as metaphors for moments of both clarity and confusion. The result is a powerful collection of songs that reflect on the complex nature of life and existence.

The EP’s standout tracks showcase TE/MO’s ability to blend deep lyrical content with infectious melodies. TE/MO collaborated with producers JP Warner and Joey Chelius to create a lush sound that perfectly walks the line between classic and modern. The arrangements range from delicate and haunting to bold and sweeping, reminiscent of a score you might hear in a stage production. String sections, ethereal synths, and layered vocals contribute to the EP’s theatrical feel, creating a sense of grandeur that is often lacking in today’s new releases.
