Emerging from Ottawa, Slectric is a talented Canadian producer, navigating the rich and blistering world of bright pop, upbeat electronica and leftfield influences. Combining instrumental efforts with vocal-powered bangers, the project seems motivated in pursuing a quirky, authentic path, standing out from the rest thanks to an unexpected level of production expertise and nostalgia.

‘BLISS’ is the project’s latest record, a collection of six eclectic tracks, each one with a very distinct personality. Take for instance track number two, ‘No More Games’. In the span of three minutes, the listener will encounter disco-flavoured basslines, dubstep-style sweeps, bright, Daft-Punk-like vocals and crazy arpeggiators.

In general, there seems to be a strong contrast between pure digital, electronica sounds and more wholesome vintage elements. It works for us, ‘BLISS’ is charming and evocative, just like we’d expect it to be.
