On Rotation: Perry Ripley - ‘G.T.F.O.’

There’s something unique in Perry Ripley’s artistic output: irresistible energy, delivered in the form of lyrical charisma and evocative vocals. Frankly, he’d deserve wider recognition than what he’s currently enjoying, although we are confident he’ll get there pretty soon. ‘G.T.F.O.’ is the perfect evidence of that: a slick, passionate and celebrative anthem, the record is a stunning nugget of pop goodness, boasting a strong production and even stronger lyricism.

Built over eclectic electronic pop vibes, the record champions punchy drums, kaleidoscopic synthetisers and fuzzy guitars, providing the perfect setting for Ripley’s luscious vocals, packed with panache and dramatic energy. Already hyped out by the likes of BBC Introducing, among others, it’s clear that the project is meant for higher territories.

Delving into the inspiration behind ‘G.T.F.O.’, Perry explains: “It’s written around the inner monologue of someone going through a break-up but still finds themselves running back to that person even though they know it’s a bad idea”.
