There’s a lot of witty and interesting sound design in ‘Boating’. We do appreciate the production: introduced by ethereal and ambient-like harmonic pads, the record comes alive once Patryk Kania engages in luscious spoken words, giving us a certain ‘Italians Do It Better’ vibe (something that fits in the sonic aspect too).
The chorus opens the track up in a glorious and groovy modern pop concoction, with Kania’s finally showcasing his singing voice, so majestic and charming, particularly at home in high-pitch harmonies and feathery tones. Eventually, ‘Boating’ fits the mould of a dance-pop record, although it does so with elegance, creative flair and a certain quirkiness.
Written by Patryk Kania and produced by his long-time collaborator Kevin Buster (Florida, US), Boating is the third single from Patryk’s second EP titled Gin Mill Club, which will be released this autumn.
