On Rotation: NYXOTYPE "TECHNOSAURUS"
Nyxotype, an experimental artist based out of Germany, released her latest single, “Technosaurus,” a track that is playful, unique, and oh so hypnotic. Focusing on trippy electronic beats that sound futuristic and layered with vocals provided by Wizart, the song literally feels like a journey with its almost sci-fi sounds.
The production is layered, which keeps the song’s signature surreal and otherworldly energy. Synths shimmer and pulse throughout every art of the song, and the beat moves with an off-putting glitchy flow that makes it sound cinematic in a way.
Lyrically, “Technosaurus” might at first feel just lighthearted, but it also has a deeper meaning. The repeated lyric, "I would want to see that T-Rex," shows an interesting spark of curiosity, making it feel like a conversation between a wonder and a dream. Afterall, the song is inspired by a visit to a dinosaur installation. Nyxotype turned that simple experience into a song that is a reminder to seek meaning in the most unexpected of places. Other lines like, "Test test test, that's a bible reflex to see that I made for," add a philosophical element, making the song sound deeper. When the lyrics shift to "I would spread my wings and soar, the music almost lifts with them.
All in all, what makes “Technosaurus” stand out is its mix of creative lyrics, imagery, and ideas alongside an one-of-a-kind beat. It might not be the most serious of tracks, but that doesn’t mean it lacks any impact, as it still easily can transport listeners into a sci-fi dreamscape. Whether you're a fan of the trippy sounds, quirky storytelling lyrics, or just finding new vibes through music, “Technosaurus” is worth a listen.
