Nolo Grace, a Korean/American artist who is currently based in Los Angeles, has shared her first single of 2024 “Alone in My Dreams.” The single delves into ideas of change and growth while embodying a cosmic, experimental auditory experience. Furthermore, it is the first single off of Grace’s upcoming album, Eyes of the Dragon.
Drawing from persistent night terrors, "Alone in My Dreams" evokes the essence of Alice in Wonderland, delving into diverse self-iterations with its otherworldly tunes and brisk rhythm. Grace described the song as being based off of the feeling of running and being pursued, both physically and symbolically. Those night terrors of being chased inspired the creation, thus showcasing themes of identity, navigation, and drawing upon spiritual, philosophical, and mythological elements.
Grace also possesses visual narrative skills, which are evident in the song’s music video. The video was created alongside Director John Frost and Grace stated that the video has the purpose to further share the cong’s concept while also allowing listeners to go deeper into the song’s multiple themes.
