It’s a fantastic quality in our opinion, something that will allow the Norwegian talent to connect to a larger audience, perhaps intrigued by the heartfelt and nuanced lyrical themes the project seems to enjoy.
‘I Don’t Wanna Break Your Heart’ is the strongest evidence of that: Mono Martian’s latest effort, the track explores the challenging emotions that guide us into finally accepting that true love will find a way to us, even if our current relationship seems to not be working accordingly. As the Bergen resident reminds us: “If you really love somebody, but you can’t seem to make them happy - set them free”.
Sonically, ‘I Don’t Wanna Break Your Heart’ settles on a blend between retro-pop and 90s indie, delivering a rather emotional piece of melodic pop-rock that captures the listener with charisma and dynamism. Speaking about the record, Mono Martian explains: “As an artist, I strive to write memorable songs and I feel a sudden rush of adrenaline when I manage to say something meaningful in a simple message. With ‘I Don't Wanna Break Your Heart’ I feel I managed to find the balance between a catchy melody and a heartfelt message”.
What’s notable, is that the track also features a vocal cameo from Mono Martian’s daughter, Iris Stardust.
