On Rotation: Molly Baker- June 28th

Molly Baker, an emerging artist based in Washington D.C., released her latest single, "June 28th". Baker may still be in highschool, but with her latest single she showcases her relatable songwriting skills and impressive production techniques.

"June 28th" was produced alongside Jenni Rudolph and Maurice Soque and recorded at Cedar Lane Music Studios in Washington DC. For Baker, this single marks a significant milestone as it represents her first fully self-produced song.

Lyrically, the track explores the intricacies of relationships, capturing the ups and downs of modern young love. Through her lyrics, Baker tells the story of what teenagers experience nowadays - singing candidly about heartache through the angle of text messages, emojis, and voice memos to each other.

Inspired by today’s top contemporary pop artists such as Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Olivia Rodrigo, and Gracie Abrams, Baker infuses her music with a modern appeal. Most notably, her lyrics and melodious sound are reminiscent of Rodrigo, resonating with young audiences who appreciate raw, authentic storytelling.

Despite being based in Washington D.C., and still being in highschool, Baker has already managed to make appearances on platforms like Amazing Radio in the US and UK, as well as aBreak Music and various East Coast music events. It’s safe to say, that is just the start of Baker’s promising career in music.
