Michellar's latest single release, "Home Sweet Home," is a stunning acoustic rock ballad that hits the heart of any person who ever felt lost or was alone. It was penned and rendered with a great weight of love and Aaron Black's tear-inducing vocal support is an excellent story of guilt, forgiveness, and the indomitable parent-child relationship.
It is a bride's story; since she wakes up in time, weeping for her father, she wants to go home. It is the account of a girl who has no one technically to elope with her, but since the feelings used to narrate the story-guilt, homesickness, and being home-safe-are universal. The best song ever written regarding the suffering of yearning for freedom is one that teaches every mind to recall that home doesn't pay attention to where they'll be, arms open like before.
It's an emotional maturity class in music, rolled-off distance organ and intimate vocal construction that grabs the listener in the first instant. Shimmering synths and padded acoustic chugs add a texture of aerial sound nearly throughout the song. Harmonies swell well out across in the chorus, enveloping the listener in a nostal- gic feeling of well-being.
The second refrain is covered over in paint by the massive electric guitars, with the message ringing out in heat and desperation. It climbs to a heightened bridge hanging over it, with thudding rhythms and climactic melodies pushing a whole new strain of emotion up. Vocal arcs-by-the-way-held here-shriek words of protest that witness the yo-yoing between closet and home. And a completely gratuitous, jaw-droppingly beautiful bridge that sings lush heavy even as the last note evaporated. Michellar wrote a song-A "Home Sweet Home" goes beyond song, emotional epiphany that reminds us of the power of belongingness. It is upper class journalism with excellent production and heart-candescence singing. The new "Home Sweet Home" movement can be streamed everywhere now-a must-listen for anyone ever drawn to home.
