On Rotation: MARA LIDDLE 'All Over The Place

Emerging from Newcastle, Mara Liddle champions the idea of a forward-thinking popstar, in the sense that she’s keen on interpreting relatable and popular vibes with a keen hyper-futuristic outlook, building angelic and dreamy melodies on bright and luscious electronic instrumental, drawing inspiration from the likes of Charli XCX, Pinkpantheress, and Shygirl, all name that - coincidentally - have worked a great deal to evolve the current pop landscape.

Championed by the likes of BBC Introducing, among others, Liddle has been steadily building her unique brand of colourful euphoria through a series of enlightening and interesting singles, always staying true to her ethos. ‘All Over The Place’ is Mara’s latest effort, a stunning gem that continues to erode the traditional idea of ‘pop’, channelling jungle and garage influences in the process.

A collaboration with fellow creative JB Thomas, the song “tries to get to grips with life. It’s about life during and after lockdown and the challenges and rewards that came with it, about finishing university and not knowing what comes next, about family relationships changing as you grow older and less dependent” - as Liddle explains.
