On Rotation: LEUER 'Till I Can't'

Recorded in the intimacy of his home studio, LEUER writes about his experience with falling in love. For him, love was about taking the risk of moving across the country to be with his partner. Even though this track is about the spontaneity of relationships, it's also about the fear of not knowing how far it will go. LEUER experiments with auto tuned vocals which are overlaid on a melancholic piano and then a faster, bassy rhythm. LEUER uses a wide range of instruments, sounds and effects to convey the confusion one feels when in a whirlwind romance. It is common for Michael [LEUER] to base his songs off of his real life experiences. He uses music as a way to build community and explore his struggles with depression and the hardships of growing up gay - even though his music is seemingly sad, he explores happiness through his tunes. If there is any message that he wants us to take from his latest single, it's to “follow your heart, life is too short not to”.

Main influences: LAUV, Charlie Puth, Bon Iver
