On Rotation: KIM MCCLAY 'Comin' Home'

Kim McClay’s new single reminds me of what it means to be a girl experiencing the world in their 20s. Recorded between Dolan Studios on the NYU campus and her Executive Producer Dustin Beardsley’s bedroom, the song is full of joy and discovery of the self. The vocals are soft yet powerful, making you feel like letting your hair down and running through the park.

McClay talks about ‘Comin Home’, it is clear that home is not a place but rather herself. What I love about this song is that it's not about somebody else or experiences out of her control, she is learning how to navigate the city and she’s taking control of it. It is refreshing to listen to her music, one is left empowered and ready to tackle anything that is thrown at them - “I’ve got two feet on the ground”. This single is only the start of Kim McClay, as she recently headlined Bowery Electric in New York City and plans to perform more with the release of new music. I am sure that Kim knows exactly what type of musician she is, and we are all anticipating what sounds she comes out with next.
