We loved Kavita Baliga’s evocative vocals: extremely charming, cinematic and highly elegant. It shouldn’t be a surprise though. The talented songstress is a seasoned performer and singer, having appeared in multiple Bollywood blockbusters and having shared studios with a plethora of top producers and industry peeps.
Now, the US-based talent returns with her latest effort, a stunning and luscious dreamy piece titled ‘Will You Miss Me Then’. In it, Baliga builds a compelling sonic universe, made up of soothing textures and delicate plucks, while growing in intensity as the composition evolves.
Kavita’s vocals are the main character here, so nuanced and delicate, but also hard-hitting when it matters. A masterclass in vocal performance. Explaining the lyricism behind the record, Baliga explains: “It explores the intricate chemistry between two people caught in the struggle of love and conflict; the desire to fly away; break out of the cage, and soar free”.
