We met her for an exclusive interview on the occasion of the release of her latest single "I want it all"
Hi ALLI. Welcome in AFX. What are a few words that would best describe you and your musical world?
I've grown up with music being a huge part of my life. Starting in classical music, I grew up playing multiple instruments and playing in orchestras. As I grew older, I found my love for writing and performing songs with my guitar. Music is everything to me. It keeps me busy, it is my every thought, it's my true passion in life.
How do you stay motivated and inspired to create new music?
Music is something that I need in my life. I continue to create music because I know how sad I would feel if I didn't have that in my life. When I'm feeling burnt out, I try to get back to the root of why I love music so much in the first place and go from there.
What is your preferred method of writing and producing music, alone or in a team?
I usually write alone but enjoy collaborating with producers on my songs. There can be a lot of good ideas that can be uncovered when you're back and forth with someone else. Writing though is something deeply personal to me so I enjoy doing that with just my guitar so that I can really connect with the music and what I'm writing about.
What are some of your favourite songs to play live?
I love playing my song "Some People Never Change" live. That one is always a crowd favorite and has such a good energy.
What does high quality sound mean to you?
High quality sound means that there's an extra layer of care that goes into creating and recording a song. It's the detail and level of professionalism that you could hear on the radio. That's what I always aim for.
Do any of your songs based on personal experiences? If so, can you tell me about one that’s particularly special to you?
All of my songs are written from my life experiences and emotions that I've felt. Track #4 on my new album, "Lies Are Circulating" is a song I wrote about rumors and lies being started about me. It can be such a defeating thing when everyone around you is believing a lie just because someone wanted to hurt me. This quickly became one of my favorite songs on the album.
Would you like to share anything else about yourself or your music with our readers?
My debut album, Undeniable, is streaming everywhere now so please go support and listen! This album means a lot to me and I know that you can find a song that will resonate with you as well.
