IAN McDANIEL - Baby Don't Go Too Far
If we had to define a glorious, iconic moment in ‘Baby Don’t Go Too Far’, it would have to be the stunning guitar solo towards the end. In true Prince style, it offers such charisma and poignancy, to make us wish it would never end.

If we had to define a glorious, iconic moment in ‘Baby Don’t Go Too Far’, it would have to be the stunning guitar solo towards the end. In true Prince style, it offers such charisma and poignancy, to make us wish it would never end. It does though, for all good things must come to an end, eventually.
Penned by Americana artist Ian McDaniel, ‘Baby Don’t Go Too Far’ is a slice of retro goodness, a luscious and nostalgic dive into what made the 80s such a great decade. Against a slow-paced yet groovy drum machine, McDaniel layers wide synth pads, slapped basslines and the aforementioned kaleidoscopic guitar.
It’s a triumph, really: the keen listeners will find it difficult to stand still, allowing themselves a little dance. A slow dance; remember those? Speaking about the record, McDaniel explains: “Love for another, love for yourself and the love for where we originated. Never stray too far from what makes you you and the love that binds us together.”
