On Rotation: HOLLY JADE 'november'

While pop might sound like a rather simple genre, mastering the art of writing catchy tunes and relatable melodies requires hard work, talent and the right attitude. Holly Jade seems to be doing exactly that, penning tunes that feel relevant, relatable and extremely contemporary. Emerging from Western Australia, the young newcomer continues the tradition of Aussie pop powerhouses, and frankly, we are only too happy about it.

‘november’ is Jade’s latest effort, an honest, poignant and wholesome anthem delving into lost friendship and temporary melancholia. The track itself is quite genius, delivering a rather acoustic outlook with electric guitars and minimal clap-powered beats. Crowning it all, we find Holly Jade’s luscious and mellow vocals, able to connect with the listeners on a deeper level.

Jade explains: “I lost a friend unexpectedly and I was having a hard time making sense of the feelings that come with that. When I went to this recording session I knew I wanted to write about it, but in a way that felt nostalgic and bittersweet.”
