Fallin’ Astronauts are on a mission. Whether it be to widen the scope of indie-pop by way of classical influences or create music that offers tough and introspective takes on the modern world, the Vienna duo of vocalist Mars and instrumentalist Eris demand to be heard with their pulsing indie music. Their latest single, “Colours,” is a smattering of anthemic guitars and pop hooks built for the biggest stadiums across the world. Using the multiplicity of colors in our world as a metaphor for the great diversity of peoples that exist, the duo exude a fighting spirit for those who need the most fight in their lives. They fight against aggression, hate and bigotry in our world, instead desiring to spread as much love as they can through their art, music and message.

Although their background in classical music has opened them up to a multitude of influences, “Colours” seems to draw most of its bombast and positivity from the stadium pop of Coldplay, especially their work from the early 2010s. Reverb-laden guitars and big gang vocals help to enhance that spirit of love and resilience in the song, and the song’s chants of the title close to the end of the song make for a stadium-ready track. Fallin’ Astronauts are on a mission. Tune in and be mesmerized.
