On Rotation: AFX Radio is playing 'Traffic Space' from Eva Blanche's EP 'METROPOLE PARADISE'

Here at AFX Radio we are always on the lookout for quirky and eclectic records, and we are happy to report we have come across a rather talented songstress from France. Happily thriving in the Parisian artistic landscape is Eva Blanche, now presenting her latest effort, ‘METROPOLE PARADISE’, a stunning EP that feels authentic and unique. Over four engaging tracks, the record navigates art-pop, cosmic and psych vibes, delivering a sonic journey that feels like a captivating blend of David Bowie and Kate Bush.

It’s the title track, ‘Metropole Paradise’, which feels rather different, as if Blanche was taking a step back from it all, stripping it back to just piano and vocals. Here, we can appreciate the drama and poignancy she is able to evoke. Absolutely superb.

Describing the meaning behind the EP, Eva explains: “Each piece I thought of as a short film. The song Traumapolis for example, started as a theatre play I staged and wrote. It’s important for me that the cinematographic and theatrical dimension exist throughout the pieces of the EP and LP.”
