Emeye, the masked DJ and producer, has released their first single of 2024, "Aries,” which features a fusion of baby samples, personally recorded by the artist, intertwined with a future-bass style.
Emeye describes the creative vision behind writing the song was to highlight the beauty found in life and especially in a new life. The artist felt that they could only create this message while using a real and living sound. Thus, when the artist had the opportunity to sample newborn babies, they included them in the song to replace traditional instruments, such as drums and synths. Emeye believes the song is one of the most esoteric songs the artist has ever created.
Lyrically, the song hints at the beauty of becoming a new parent, speaking about the purpose and innate loyalty a new life can bring to an existing one. However, as Emeye keeps their identity unknown, fans can be certain about what the artist is referencing.
Remaining a mysterious entity, Emeye is a creator who works to stand somewhere between the real and virtual worlds. Keeping their origins a mystery, Emeye exists in the present, and looks to encompass all of life, saying that they are the earth, the stars, and everything in between.
