It certainly meets our expectations, with its gritty and dynamic character, balanced so well by the band’s lead vocals, way more relaxed and gentle. Emerging from southern California, A Lens to the Sun are not new to crafting rock material with a touch of poignancy into it. In fact, it’s almost their trademark. ‘Everything I Do’ is the strongest evidence of it, alternating earthy guitar riff to more cinematic and dramatic sections, also sharing a certain orchestral flair.
Lyrically, ‘Everything I Do’ explores the richness that we should all find in life. As the band explains: “It is about overcoming apathy by seeking out what really matters while we are here. Life is short, and while everything looks like it was put on pause, time felt like it sped up. The unparalleled freedom that came along with the cage is an intriguing paradox.”
